St. Mary’s Episcopal Church can be described as a big building inhabited by a small group of Christians whose personalities fill it to overflowing.
This small group is decidedly protective of the traditions of the Episcopal Church while at the same time recognizing the changing nature of secular society. Our sense of balance has been thrown off by this shift into a post-Christendom culture. Meantime, while we try to find our place as Christians among this evolving world, we continue to exude a welcoming attitude toward those looking for a place of worship and solace.
Guests have commented through the years that they feel at ease with the people they meet here even if the liturgy and worship service are initially unfamiliar.
Uncertain times cannot change the constancy of God’s love and wisdom so, while we at St. Mary’s seek to know His Will for our church, we also seek to entertain and have a little fun.
Our parishioners enjoy congregating around our Wednesday morning coffee pot for conversation and Bible devotional. Our Sunday morning worship service has regular attendees from surrounding counties as well as locals. Relationships trump distance.
